How to enter Sony Xperia M5 E5603, E5606, E5653 Recovery mode, Fastboot mode and Hard reset

Recovery Mode Sony Xperia M5

  1. Turn power off the Sony Xperia
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up and Power key about 10 seconds
  3. Release all key when Android System Recovery mode appears
  4. use Volume keys to select options
  5. use Power key to confirm.

Fastboot mode

  1. Turn off power off by pressing Power key
  2. Press and hold Volume Down key
  3. Connect the Xperia to USB Cable
  4. Done!

Hard reset Sony Xperia M5

  1. In Recovery Mode select wipe data / factory reset with Volume key
  2. press Power key to confirm
  3. select Yes — delete all user data, press power key to confirm
  4. select Reboot system now to finish hard reset, press POwer key to confirm

Hard reset via Settings menu

  1. Open Settings menu from home screen or Apps
  2. Select Backup & reset option
  3. Tap to select Factory Data Reset
  4. tap Reset Phone.
  5. tap Erase Everything
  6. tap OK to confirm.

Alternative to hard reset Sony Xperia using Flashtool and using Sony PC Companion

Make to backup your important data! Performed a hard reset will erase all data and restore it to factory default setting. The data can not be recovered!

  1. Honestly I used these instructions and identical instructions from other websites but it didnt work. I had a screen code I forgot, I can barely use facebook but I tried power key amd volume down buttons pressed together and the recovery menu appeared. I was scared out of my mind when the phone was resetting cuz I dont know what its supposed to look like. It worked for me, try it!

  2. I switched it off…waited 10-15 seconds. Then tried power and volume up. It vibrated once followed by 3 virations. Then I released the buttons and tried power and volume down and the reset menu appeared and I chose factory reset using the volume buttons. It took 2-4 minutes. And my phone was back! I havent been able to use it in a month. I didnt wana pay someone to reset it for me when I have google!
