How to Root Samsung Galaxy A51 SM-A515F Android 11 Official – DUB1 Firmware.  TWRP Recovery for Galaxy A51 Android 11 does not available yet when I posted this rooting guide. I rooted it by patching stock boot.img and flash it with custom vbmeta.img that are packed in a tar file . Use it at your own risk! Follow the instructions carefully and Make sure to backup all your important data!

Downloads

• Enable Developer Options: go to Settings -> About device. Tap 7 times on Build number to enable Developer options.
• Enable OEM unlock and USB debugging options ( Settings -> Developer options )
• Make sure the bootloader are unlocked, If not read How to unlock Bootloader Samsung Galaxy A51
• Download and Extract ODIN v3.13.1 from https://odindownload.com/SamsungOdin/
• Download and Install Samsung Mobile Phone Drivers
• Download Latest Magisk and Magisk Manager
• Download vbmeta.img
• Download LZ4

Patch boot.img with Magisk Instructions

• Extract boot.img.lz4 from file AP – firmware to Lz4 folder
• Decompress boot.img.lz4 to boot.img
• copy boot.img into ‘Download’ folder on Phone
• Connect phone to internet
• Install and open Magisk Manager
• Patching boot.img
• New patched img will appear in Download folder as magisk_patched_PJLx1.img
• Copy magisk_patched_PJLx1.img to computer ( same placed with vbmeta.img )
• Rename magisk_patched_PJLx1.img to boot.img
• Compressing boot.img and vbmeta.img using 7-zip to A51_A11_MagiskPatched.tar ( you can name it as you like )

Flashing Instructions :

1. 1. Make sure the bootloader are unlocked, OEM unlock option is grey out
      
   2. Enter Download Mode : Turn Power Off. Press and hold Volume Up + Volume Down key together, while pressing these keys, connect the phone to computer, then press volume up once.
   3. Open ODIN
   4. Insert A51_A11_MagiskPatched.tar in AP, then click start. The phone will rebooting to ANDROID RECOVERY MODE
   5. in ANDROID RECOVERY, Select Factory data reset and press power key to confirm
   6. select ‘Factory data reset’ again and confirm
   7. Setup the phone

Rooting Instructions

1. 1. Connect to Internet
   2. Install and Open Magisk Manager, it will ask to do additional setups. Let it do its job and the app will automatically reboot your device.
   3. Done! You can use Root Checker to check it, Enjoy!

If something goes wrong and you want to unroot it, just flash the ROM to make it works again.

Notes / Warning!

1. Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible for bricking your device.
2. Using the incorrect file may brick your device.
3. If your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, Rooting will trigger it. If you’re lucky, Triangle Away has support for your device and can be used to reset the counter.
4. If you have a KNOX-enabled device, Rooting will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status !
5. If your device storage is encrypted, Rooting will wipe your data !
6. If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device – with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically “OEM unlock” and wipe your data !
7. Make sure to backup your important data before root it.
