How to Install, Lineage OS 17.1, GApss and Rooting on Samsung Galaxy A30. LineageOS 17.1 brought to you by @andyyan that comes with ROM Android 10 Q, last update 2020-10-12. Version Information: Status Stable GSI ROM lineage-17.1-20201012-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bvS ( ARM64-AB ). To install this Custom ROM, your phone must be installed TWRP Custom Recovery. Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible for bricking your device.

Download

  1. Your phone must be Installed TWRP Recovery for Android 10. If not, you can read How to Flash TWRP and Root Samsung Galaxy A30 Android 10 Q.
  2. Download lineage-17.1-20201012-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bvS.img.xz ( extract it to get img file, use 7-zip )
  3. Download latest Open GAPPS: Platform=ARM64, Android=10, Variant=nano ( if necessary )
  4. Download Kintsugi-GSI#1.1.6.img for MTP
  5. Copy rom img and GApps to SD Card

How to Install Lineage OS rom on Samsung Galaxy A30:

  1. Enter TWRP Recovery Mode: Turn power off; Press and hold Volume Up key + Power key, when samsung logo appears release power key only, keep pressing volume up until TWRP recovery appears
  2. Select Wipe – Format Data – type “yes” and confirm
  3. Select Wipe – Advanced ( Dalvik, Cache, System ) Swipe to wipe
  4. Select Install ( If image file in SD Card: Select Storage – Micro SD card – OK ) – Install Image – select lineage-17.1-20201012-UNOFFICIAL-treble_arm64_bvS.img – thick “System Image”, Swipe to confirm flash
  5. Select Reboot – System
  6. Setup the Phone

Install GApps if necessary

  • Enter TWRP Recovery
  • Select Wipe – Advanced Wipe ( select “System” ) – Repair or Change File System – Resize File System – Swipe to Resize
  • Select Mount – ( select “System, Vendor” ), Back to home
  • Select Install ( If file in SD Card: Select Storage – Micro SD card – OK ) – select open_gapps-arm64-10.0-nano-xxxxxxxx.zip Swipe to confirm Flash
  • Select Reboot – System

Rooting if necessary

  • Enter TWRP Recovery
  • Install Magisk v20.4 or Magisk v21.0
  • Select Reboot – System
  • Connect the phone to Internet wait for a moment
  • Open Magisk Manager. If it does not installed,  Install it manually. Magisk Manager will ask to do additional setups. Let it do its job and the app will automatically reboot your device.
  • Done! You can use Root Checker to check it, Enjoy!

MTP

  • Enter TWRP Recovery
  • Install Kintsugi-GSI#1.1.6.img as “Boot”
  • Reboot to System

If you want to uninstall this custom ROM and back to stock ROM, just flash the stock ROM to your device. Flashing stock ROM will also uninstall TWRP Recovery and it will back to stock Android Recovery.

Notes / Warning!

  1. Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible for bricking your device.
  2. Using the incorrect file may brick your device.
  3. If your target device has a custom firmware flash counter, Rooting will trigger it. If you’re lucky, Triangle Away has support for your device and can be used to reset the counter.
  4. If you have a KNOX-enabled device, flash custom rom and Rooting will trip the KNOX WARRANTY VOID status!
  5. If your device storage is encrypted, Rooting will wipe your data !
  6. If you have locked bootloaders, flashing one of these will probably brick your device – with the exception of Nexus devices, which will usually automatically “OEM unlock” and wipe your data !
  7. Make sure to backup your important data before root it.
